Hundreds of millions of people in the developing world don’t have a reliable source of electricity. The GivePower Foundation, supported by then-SolarCity (which was absorbed into Tesla as Tesla Energy; side note: SC was run by Elon’s cousins), worked to deploy solar + storage systems in villages in Africa, Asia and South America.
